YouTube partnership now open to Nigerian video producers

One recent good news from YouTube now is that Nigerians can now make money online by simply publishing their home made videos on YouTube. In the past, Nigerian residents were not allowed to be partners but lately, the partnership program is now open.

For a long time in the past, Nigerian videos were among the most watched African videos on YouTube but the problem was that Nigerian residents were not allowed to sign up into the YouTube partnership program, a program that allows video producers to make money online by simply publishing with YouTube. Already, there were a lot of American and Europeans publishers who were making thousands of dollars on the platform by simply creating and publishing their home made videos.

Currently, there are lots of Nigerian videos which have gotten over 1 million views on YouTube, the world's largest internet video sharing website. YouTube is like a tv that comes with a lot of channels and the good thing is that people can watch any channel or video they want anytime since these videos are stored on YouTube which has almost an unlimited amount of storage.

I've known about YouTube partnership program for sometime and published some videos on it with a view to driving more traffic to my affiliate pages and it really helped. However with the recent opportunity to also earn money from YouTube advertisers, there seems to be more money to be made as a publisher.

What YouTube partnership program means for Nigerians is that they would now be able to make money directly from their videos based on the amount of traffic such videos can attract. If you publish a funny or entertaining video on YouTube and are signed up as a partner, you would get to earn money from Google Adsense as long as that video keeps driving traffic.

It doesn't really matter if you were a big time movie producer or secondary school student who still makes videos with his mobile phone but as long as your video is entertaining to the audience, you are most likely going to make money with it.

There had already been stories of Nigerians making money with YouTube in the past such as Nollywoodlove and others but those ones probably became partners using their UK or US residence and were paid to those addresses. However with YouTube partnership program, Nigerians who earn money with their YouTube videos will now be paid by foreign cheque which will be sent to and cashed in Nigerian banks just as Google adsense works.

There is now a lot of money to be made by creating and publishing local Nigerian content on the web because more local advertisers are getting into advertising with Google. This means that Google will keep sharing advertising revenue through a lot of their platforms such as YouTube.

First create a video with your camera and then upload it to your Youtube account and then monetize it when it starts getting a lot of page views.
